Benedetti’s Supper Club – Beloit, WI

In 1944 Elmer & Tosca Benedetti opened the Yost Park Tavern.  Alongside the tavern were baseball diamonds and picnic tables for families to enjoy time together.

A devastating fire destroyed Yost Park Tavern in 1946.  A temporary building was used while the new bar/restaurant was being constructed.  The “new” bar at it’s present location opened as “Club 51”.

In 1953 Elmer died and their only son Ken, along with his wife Lois helped Tosca continue to run the bar/restaurant.  By this time “Club 51” had a reputation for its famous fish fry.  At that time a fish dinner would cost $0.75 and a shot of whiskey was $0.20.

The bar was remodeled in 1955 and the name changed to Benedetti’s Supper Club.

Currently, Tosca’s grandson Elmer and his wife Sandy own and operate the family business.  To this very day Benedetti’s Supper Club is still known for thier famous fish fry using Tosca’s recipes for breading the fish and their most amazing homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce.

Stop in and taste a bit of history.  You WON’T be disappointed.
